EUNICE RACHEL (SEELEY) REAM (1919 - 2010)
Eunice Rachel Ream, born March 26, 1919 in Portis, KS to Benjamin and Mary Seeley, passed away on February 14, 2010 in Mount Vernon, WA.
Eunice moved to Snohomish, WA in 1935.
Eunice was a member of the Snohomish Seventh Day Adventist Church, and spent every day as a missionary. She shared Jesus Christ with everyone she came in contact with. She had a special ministry for children, and spent over 40 years hosting vacation bible schools. She put many thousands of miles on her car, picking children up taking them to and from church because they didn't have a ride. Eunice wanted every child to experience the joys of church summer camp, so she spent countless hours fundraising, having yard sales and even donating out of her own pocket so that any child that wanted to go could go if money was the only thing stopping them. Eunice held bible studies and passed out religious videos as part of her missionary work To say that she was a "Warrior for Christ" would be an understatement.
She enjoyed gardening and worked her career in the floral/greenhouse industry. Her favorite flower was the African Violet.
Eunice is survived by her son, Larry Ream and his wife, Eileen of Mount Vernon, WA; her daughter, Eileen Kennedy and her husband, Herbert, of Yacolt, WA; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, George; and sons, John, Ted and Jim.
We wish to extend our sincere thanks to the staff of My Joyas adult family home where Eunice resided the last three years. A special thank you to Isabel and Frank Hernandez for giving her such loving care. We thank Skagit County Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, February 22, 2010, at Purdy & Kerr Funeral Home, 409 W. Main St., Monroe, Washington.
