Willa Rae Seely Reiser

Willa Rae Seely Reiser passed away on August 21, 2012. She was born on July 24, 1928, in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, to Chesley P. Seely and Gladys E. Seely. They later moved to Salt Lake City where she attended East High School and the University of Utah. She married David E. Reiser in 1948 and they had two children, David S. Reiser and Rosalyn E. Reiser. In 1954 they moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts, where Willa was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and met many lifelong friends. She served faithfully in many roles in the church including Primary president and Relief Society president. Her marriage ended in divorce in 1968. She began a long career as an administrative assistant at Harvard University in 1969 and worked in many departments, including Harvard Law School, Harvard College Observatory, Harvard Design School, and Harvard Business School. She made many friends while at Harvard and led an active life, including a few seasons playing ice hockey on a Cambridge women's hockey team, the Ms. Sticks. Throughout her life, Willa was known for her generosity, her hospitality (she often brought people in need into her home), and for treating everyone as an equal. Willa is survived by her brother Chesley Kent (and Lucille) Seely, her brother John Henry (and Jan) Seely, her son David Reiser and companion Liz Rudnick, Willa's daughter Rosalyn Reiser, and many loving nieces and nephews.
