Phebe Anna Seeley Rice

THE LATE MRS. PHEBE ANNA SEELEY RICE

Phebe Anna Seeley Rice was born January 12, 1880. When 11 years old she attended camp meetings at Pleasant Valley and there accepted Christ as her savior. Soon afterward she was baptized and joined the Butbler Hill Baptist church. She laborered faithfully in this church for 47 years. During these years of godly service she belonged to the Lord. Her desires, interests, and affections were centered in Jesus Christ. She was a child, consecrated entirely to her heavenly father.

On October 8, 1902 she was married to Ernest D. Rice. Three daughters, Grace, Lena (Mrs. Harold Niel) and Ethel were born to them. She is survived by her husband, three daughters and three grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The closing months of Mrs. Rice’s life were not ones of physical comfort. However, through this time of bodily weakness she looked steadfastly unto God, longing for the day when she would be permitted to go home. The Lord called her unto Himself November 20, 1937, after 57 years upon this earth. The peace of God was hers as she slipped out of this life.
