Ruth Seeley Ross, 69, wife of B. Alan Ross, died Friday at Duke University Medical Center.
Mrs. Ross was born and raised in Durham. She attended Durham High School and was a graduate of Duke University. She relocated from Durham to Ridgefield, CT in 1953, where she lived 30 years, until moving to Crozet, VA. She was the daughter of the late Dean and Mrs. Walter James Seeley, of Duke University.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, B. Alan Ross; sons, Alan Ross, of Madison, CT, William Ross, of Durham, and Walter Seeley Ross, of Cardiff By The Sea, CA; 6 grandchildren, Daniel James Ross, Rebecca Anne Ross, Christopher Peter Ross, Benjamin Jacob Ross, Anna Catherine Ross, and Laura Elizabeth Ross; sisters, Carol S. Scott, of Rock Hill, and Elizabeth S. Hill, of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Monday, December 29, at 2:00 p.m. at Crozet Baptist Church, Crozet, VA. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Roy Thomas. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's name may be made to Wildlife Center of Virginia, PO Box 1557, Waynesboro VA 22980.
