Elizabeth J. Seeley Scalise Worked as cook for Northwestern School District

EAST SPRINGFIELD; Elizabeth J. Scalise, 75, of East Springfield, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at Saint Vincent Health Center.

She was born March 31, 1928, in Lake City, daughter of the late Hugh and Pauline Powers Seeley.

Retiring from the Northwestern School District, she worked as a cafeteria cook for West Springfield Elementary School and Northwestern High School. She formerly worked for Hopkins Manufacturing in Lake City.

She graduated from West Springfield High School in 1947.

She was a member of West Springfield Baptist Church. She enjoyed baking cookies, sewing quilts and vegetable and flower gardening.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn Scalise, whom she married April 29, 1950; two sons, Bradley Scalise and his wife, Lynn, of Brentwood, Calif., and Jeffrey Scalise of Painesville, Ohio; two daughters, Patricia Hosler and her husband, Thomas, of Jefferson, Ohio, and Julia Pellegrino of Girard; two sisters, Rae Stearns and Nancy Harrington, both of Girard; nine grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Friends may call Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home, 11883 Main St., East Springfield. A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at West Springfield Baptist Church, Route 20, officiated by the Rev. Tim Ferguson.

Burial will be at Springfield Cemetery.
