Jessie Mae Scott

Mass of Christian Burial for former Carlton and McMinnville resident Jessie Mae Scott of Newberg will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. James Catholic Church, McMinnville.

Interment will be in St. James Catholic Cemetery, McMinnville.

The chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville, will be open for visitation from noon to 6 p.m. today and Sunday.

Ms. Scott died April 9, 2001, in Chehalem Care Center, Newberg. She was 86.

She was born Feb. 28, 1915, in Waupun, Wis., the daughter of Charles and Anna Marie Wicker Seely. In 1919, she moved with her family to The Dalles.

After living in Independence from 1938 to 1943, she moved to Tekoa, Wash. She worked there for Woodruff and Son Seed Co.

She lived in Carlton from 1950 to 1967. She then moved to McMinnville. Ms. Scott worked as a dietitian aide at McMinnville Community Hospital for 12 years.

Survivors include three daughters, Margaret Bowen of Yamhill, Candace Coerver of Lincoln City and Patricia Maymir of Huntington Beach, Calif.; a son, William Scott of Terrebonne; a sister, Dorothy Foley of Miami, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother.
