Theola Mae Simpson
(September 8, 1916 - March 12, 2008)
Theola Mae Simpson, age 91, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away at Slate Creek Deseret Nursing Home in Wellington, KS early Wednesday morning, March 12, 2008. She retired from Futures Unlimited after many years of service as a supervisor.
Theola M. (Seely) Simpson was born on September 8, 1916 in Woodbine, KS to Fredrick Seely and Hattie (Moss) Seely.
Theola married Merle E. Simpson on December 6, 1939 in Newkirk, OK. He preceded her in death on February 9, 1970.
She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed sports, music and dancing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Merle E Simpson; son, Kent Simpson and one great grandson, Matthew Steven Simpson; five brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include one son, Merle E. Simpson, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Wichita, KS; four grandchildren, Steve Simpson and his wife Kim of Wichita, KS, Stacy Wiley and her husband Mike of Wellington, KS, Ashley Whitmore and her husband Trint of Wichita, KS and Mandy Cunningham of Wellington, KS; nine great grandchildren, Marissa, Dalton, Addison and Jillian Wiley and Keelie, Kierstyn and Natalie Cunningham all of Wellington, KS and Samuel Simpson and Deacon Whitmore both of Wichita, KS.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 1:30 P.M. at Prairie Lawn Cemetery. Chaplain Dan Floyd will officiate.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 14, 2008 from 1:00 – 9:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with the Alzheimer Association in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left or mailed to Frank Funeral Home.
