Nettie Belle Seeley Slack

LOWELL - Nettie Belle Seeley Slack, 77, of Henniger Road, Lowell, died at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 22, 2005) in Marietta Memorial Hospital.

She was born Feb. 4, 1928, in West Virginia, a daughter of Francis and Lola Brothers Seeley. Her home had been in West Virginia until her marriage to Okey E. Slack when their home was in Marietta. She had been employed at Operation Main Streem at Community Action and was later employed at the library at Phillips School. She enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo, but most of all she enjoyed her family, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

On Sept. 6, 1945, she was married to Okey E. Slack, who passed away on Dec. 22, 1991. She is survived by five daughters, Kathryn Mayne and Merna Davis (Carl) of Marietta, Francis Starling (Howard), Edna Schau (Roger), Sidney Carpenter, Beth Wilson (Donald), all of Lowell; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Thomasena Grayson; two sons, Okey and Frank Slack; and six grandchildren. Two aunts survive, Kathryn Barth of Williamstown and Betty Willison of Springfield, Va.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with interment in East Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Merle Farnsworth officiating.
