Jennie Seeley Van Conett

Jennie Seeley Van Conett, 98, born on January 6, 1904 in Caro, Michigan passed away on September 4, 2002 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, Ellis Van Conett. Natives of Caro, Michigan, Mrs. Van Conett worked with her husband who owned the Nash car dealership and with her father in the Seeley Real Estate Company. Twenty-five years ago, she and her husband moved to Beaumont to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren. Jennie was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and a member of the Womans Club of Beaumont.

Survivors include brother, Clark Seeley and wife Marcella, and numerous nieces and nephews from Michigan. Survivors from Beaumont include daughter, Loraine Rumsey and husband David; grandson, David Rumsey and wife Ruth; granddaughter, Lauren Davis and husband Mack; great grandchildren, Daniel Rumsey, Jennifer Ohman, Michael Rumsey, Jake Davis, Clayton Davis, Katie Perez; and great, great-grandson, Joseph Perez. She was preceded in death by grandson Stephen Rumsey.

Family services were held September 7, 2002 at Broussardis with burial at Forest Lawn memorial Park. Pallbearers were Daniel Rumsey, Michael Rumsey, Devin Ohman, Clayton Davis, Jake Davis, and Blue Perez. Her family takes comfort and joy knowing that Jennie is resting at last reunited with her beloved husband and God. Her family learned from her the precious worth of family, and the true love and commitment of marriage. Her life is an example for us all. Broussardis in Beaumont 1605 N.
