CANANDAIGUA: Nettie Currier Walega, 92, died on Saturday, March 29, 2003 at F.F. Thompson Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua.
Nettie moved to Canandaigua in 1959 from Olean, N.Y. She worked at F.F. Thompson Hospital from 1959 until her retirement in 1973.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Elaine Currier of Canandaigua; grandsons, Stephen Currier of Canandaigua and Gerald Currier of Delray, Calif.; brother, Lee (Helen) Bly of Horseheads, N.Y.; cousin, Velma Emerson of Painted Post, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Clifford Currier, in 1945; sons, Richard Currier in 1929 and Gerald L. Currier in 2000; and sister, Mary Button, in 2000.
Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at John C. Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society.
