Maurine Merle Seely Watson

Maurine Merle Seely Watson, Our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Sister, age 79, died Thursday August 2, 1990 at her home in Salt Lake City.

Born January 25, 1911 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah to Earl Henning and Louie Merle Miner Seely. Married William Elliott Watson November 23, 1932 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple. She was active in the LDS Church serving as Counselor and President in the ward Relief Society. M.I.A. President, A teacher in both the Relief Society and the Primary. She served a Stake Mission with her husband. She was a leader in the Girl Scouts, P.T.A. President at the Emerson Elementary School, a member of the D.U.P. and was active in local politics. She retired after 20 years as an Auditor for the State Auditor's and Treasurer's Office.

Survivors: Husband, Salt Lake City; two daughters: Mrs. David (Sherron W.) DeVos, Fairfield Glade, TN. and Mrs Lyle E. (Barbara W.) Ranck, Salt Lake City. Five grandchildren: Melanie, Brian, Michele, Scott and Carla. A great granddaughter, Ashley. A brother: Earl Lester Seely, Richland, Washington. Preceded in death by brothers: John G. Seely, Calvin M. Seely, and a sister: Marjorie S. McGowen.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 6, 1990 at 12 Noon in the Princeton Ward Chapel, 1078 McClelland Street. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary 260 East South Temple Sunday evening 6-8 p.m. and Monday at the Ward one hour prior to the services. Interment in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
