MANITO, IL - Frances H. Wistehuff, 93, of Mason City Area Nursing Home, formerly of 803 S. Washington St., Manito, passed away at 1:23 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at Mason District Hospital in Havana, Illinois.
She was born Jan. 7, 1918, in Manito, the daughter of James and Hattie Himmel Seelye. She married Wayne V. Wistehuff on Aug. 23, 1935, in Kentland, Ind., and he preceded her in death on April 7, 1978.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald (Pauline) Wistehuff of Forest City and Jim (Ulla) Wistehuff of Manito. She had one sister, Marian Ulrich of Peoria. Frances had five grandchildren, Debbie (Dave) Veltman, Marian (Steve) Gray, Michael (Debbie) Wistehuff, Christian Wistehuf, and Tanja (Dave) Hands. She also had 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Frances was a homemaker all of her adult life. She enjoyed reading, bowling and playing cards.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Community United Methodist Church in Manito.
Interment will be in Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito.
