Dovonna L. "Lynn" Young, age 71, of St. Charles, passed away Friday, September 5, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on June 14, 1943, in Geneva, the daughter of Clarence and Cleo (Stanley) Seeley. Lynn grew up in Geneva and met and married Dexter Young in 1960. She was a wonderful mother and took great pride in her family. Lynn worked at Geneva Care Center where her compassion was a gift to those she worked with. In her free time, she enjoyed a good game of cards. Lynn will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her son Dexter Michael "Mike" (Shari) of Geneva; grandchildren, April (Nick) Picchi of Maple Park and Dexter Bradley Young of Geneva; and sister, Shirley (Carl) Holtz of Sandwich.
Lynn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dexter Young, who passed away January 26, 2013; her parents; and sisters, Betty Gerbig and Marilyn Berkes.
Funeral service will be held Friday, September 12, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Malone Funeral Home, 324 East State Street (Route 38), Geneva. Burial will follow at River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 11, 2014, from 4:00- 8:00 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family will be directed to a cause close to Lynn and would be greatly appreciated.
