Hollice I. Yunker

SULLIVAN — Hollice I. Yunker, 94, of Sullivan, died 2:50 a.m. Saturday (July 20, 2013) in Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon.

Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Mason Point Chapel, Sullivan, with the Pastor Gene Godfrey officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at a later date in the Skyway Memorial Gardens, Bradenton, Florida. Memorials are suggested to the Moultrie County Beacon for Bobber Yunker. Hollice was born April 8, 1919 in Cumberland County, the daughter of Cecil and Daisy McDermott Seeley. She was a member of the Sullivan First Baptist Church, Rhoda Rebekah Lodge # 167, past president of Parents of Retarded Children in Sarasota, Florida and had served on the board of directors for the Retarded Children Association in Sarasota, Florida. She married Milton G. Yunker on August 12, 1948 in Morganfield, Kentucky and he preceded her in death on February 9, 1979.

Surviving are her son, Mervin Henry ‘ Bobber’ Yunker of Sullivan; daughter, Glenda Yunker of Sarasota, Florida; stepsister, Fern Thompson of Shumway; grandson, Schascle (Amanda) Yochim of Sarasota, Florida; twin great grandsons, Harrison Yochim and Jackson Yochim of Sarasota, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers.
