We have an ongoing project to computerize the society's files. Currently we use PCFile for DOS, a dbf compatible database. We eventually plan to convert to Microsoft Access.

This program is now at version 5 and is a free download. For non-Mormons, you can turn off all their "temple codes". This is now a well advanced program that allows import and export of GEDCOM and PAF files. It also enables a quick way to make genealogy related web pages. (Always remember to exclude critical data on the living!)

Legacy Family Tree 6.0 from Millenia Corp. is now a free download. It is over 12 MegaBytes for the download. It has several advanced features including the ability to create genealogy related web pages. It saves your data in its own data format, but can import and export GEDCOMs and PAFs.
There are many other genealogy related programs, many free or lowcost to help with various tasks related to genealogy research. As time permits, links and information on these programs will be shared here.LifeLines 3.0.28 a free open source project on SourceForge. This is a console mode program that functions on Unix, Linux, DOS, Windows, and Mac. It has a very powerful scripting language for customizing reports. There are many powerful reports included with the download.

This latest version from Parson's Technology has been greatly improved. It is much faster, and allows many more options. This program has been completely redone. Most individuals will not have 90,000 plus individuals in their database, so it won't take as long to install as it did for us - approximately 1 ˝ hours to install, convert to the new format and rebuild indexes.
