Helen Seeley, 88, of Creston died Sept. 26, 2014, at Crest Haven Care Centre.

Private services are pending at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25.

Helen Seley, 88, of Creston, died Friday, September 26, 2014 at Crest Haven Care Centre in Creston. Private family services will be at a later date. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences may be given at www.powersfh.com

Helen Irene Seley was born January 28, 1926 in Tingley, Iowa to Cora Ellen (Jose) and William McKinnley Hiatt.

Helen was united in marriage to Eldon Elvin Seley on March 19, 1941 in Creston. They were later divorced. After settling in Creston she worked several different jobs including working for Puralator, GITS Manufacturing and later for the Eagles Lodge # 1398 as the manager. Helen moved to Round Rock, Texas in 1981 and worked as the manager of a convenience store. Helen moved back to Creston in 1987 and began working for Carrol Johns doing clerical work before retiring in 1988.

Helen is survived by her daughter Marianne (husband Dennis) Turner of Leander, Texas; a sister Ethel Baughman of Creston; two granddaughters, Debra (husband Tony) Jones of Fayetteville, N.C. and Sandra (husband Larry) Hamby of Hutto, Texas; 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Eldon, daughter Judy (husband Alfred) Arroyo, sister Mary Phillips and brother Earl Hiatt
