Mildred Sealy

Mildred Sealy 1934 - 2008

Mrs. Mildred Sealy, after 74 years, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 following a brief illness.

She was born on February 21, 1934 in Oktaha, Oklahoma from the loving union of L. K. and Rhoda Spigner. Mildred was educated in Oktaha, Muskogee and Ardmore, Oklahoma. She possessed a caring and nurturing spirit, and loved reading and music. Her two favorite songs were September and Autumn Leaves.

Mildred was united in marriage to Larry V. Sealy on April 4, 1951 and seven children were born from this union.

She was preceded in death by her father, L. K. Spigner, a son, Larry V. Sealy, Jr., and a baby girl at birth. She leaves to lament her passing; her mother, Rhoda Spigner, Muskogee, Oklahoma; her husband of fifty-seven years, Larry V. Sealy, Trotwood, Ohio; five children, Ronald Sealy, Dayton, Ohio, Darrell [Wanda] Sealy, Columbus, Ohio, Glenda [Jimmie] Hill, Dayton, Ohio, Linda [Michael] Winston, LaGrange, Georgia and Sharon Hawkins, San Antonio, Texas; sixteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

The final hour will be on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in the New Hope Baptist Church, Oktaha. Pastor Leonard Lang will officiate. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery. You may visit Mrs. Sealy, as she slumbers at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 Noon to 6 PM.
