Alvah B. Seeley, Sr.

Alvah B. Seeley, Sr., 76 of North Stratford NH passed away on October 12, 2009, after a short illness, with his family by his side. Born in Robbinston ME on July 21, 1933, son of Harry and Lois (Reynolds) Seeley, he was a resident of North Stratford since 1988, coming from Calais, ME. Alvah served in the United States First Airborne and was stationed in Alaska and Kentucky. He enjoyed all outdoor sports, especially hunting, fishing, horseshoes, clamming, and having picnics and barbecues. He also enjoyed spending time with his dear friend Aaron Bennett, Sr. He spent time with several other friends and looked to take part in friendly games of poker. He worked as a backyard mechanic and loved to work in his garden.

Alvah is survived by his wife of 21 years, Jane (Hartman) Seeley of North Stratford; his first wife and lifetime friend Lillian Seeley of Perry ME; daughters Wendy Seeley of Portland ME, Brenda Bowen and husband Stephen, Mary Bowen and husband Larry, all of Perry ME, Ella Young and husband Edward, Kelli Bowen and husband Randy, all of Calais ME; sons Alvah B. Seeley, Jr., and wife Sandra of Eastport ME, and Bernard "BW" Seeley and wife Janice of Woodland ME; step-daughter Mary Croft of Louisville KY; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he loved very much; sister Doris King of Colebrook NH; several nieces and nephews; and a very special dog, Penny.

He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Richard, Winnefield and Fredrick Seeley, sister Evelyn Seeley, and son Richard Wayne Seeley.
