Funeral Rites Held for Mrs. Seeley

Mrs. Amanda Rosetta Seeley, 69, wife of Hiram B. Seeley died May 1 at the family home on Pollywog Road after a prolonged period of ill health. Funeral rites for her were held at the Suver & Calvin Chapel Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. A.E. Murphy of the Federated Church, and internment was at Maple Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Seeley was the daughter of Joseph and Barbara Smith, early residents here was born in Hartford on May 17, 1865 and had spent her life here. Her death on May 1, 1935 made her span of life 69 years, 11 months and 16 days. On November 12, 1882 she was united in marriage to Hiram B. Seeley of Monroe Mich. Five children were born to them. Fred of Hartford, Mrs. Myrtle McNees, deceased. Mrs. Eva Wygent of Battle Creek, Mrs. Ruby LaMott of Hartford, and Edgar Seeley of Grand Rapids. Besides the four children she is survived by her husband, one brother Alonzo of Battle Creek, eight grandchildren and nine great grand children, together with other relatives and friends among who she was esteemed for her devotion and helpfulness.
