AUDREY FREDA SEELEY

Audrey Freda Seeley, a lifelong area resident, entered into rest on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. She was 90 years of age. The daughter of the late David Myers and Agnes Margaret Glass Elston, she was born on September 8, 1923 in the Town of Wallkill, NY.
Audrey was a 23 year employee with the advertising department of J.C. Penney in Middletown. She would later become a secretary in the office of Circleville Evangelical Presbyterian Church. She was a lifelong member of Circleville Evangelical Presbyterian Church and served as a Deacon of the church and taught in Vacation Bible School of the church.
Audrey grew up on a farm and owned and had shown horses. She competed in barrel racing and had won blue ribbons in various horse show events. Audrey taught swimming and senior lifesaving at the Middletown YMCA and also taught swimming at the Girl Scout camp. She was a water safety instructor for the Red Cross. Audrey also taught sewing at 4-H. She was a member of the Bloomingburg Grange and received several blue ribbons for baking. She enjoyed gardening, canning and making jelly.
Survivors include her four sons, Stanley R. Seeley and Diane Woollenweber of Antelope, CA, Richard D. Seeley and his wife, Rita of Columbia, MD, Dennis H. Seeley and his wife, Regina of Middletown, and Jeffrey S. Seeley of Middletown; four grandchildren, Sarah English and her husband, Jesse, Lisa Seeley and her fiance, Kevin Maffey, Katlynd Seeley and Scott Seeley. Audrey was predeceased by her husband, Charles Richard Seeley and brother, Harold Elston.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 6th in the Circleville Evangelical Presbyterian Church, corner of Route 302 and Goshen Turnpike in Circleville, NY. Reverend Brian J. Hill will officiate.
Cremation will take place at the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY and Audrey's ashes will be interred in the family plot in Howells Cemetery, Howells, NY.
