Calais – Barbara Marie Seeley, 78, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Calais Regional Hospital. Barbara was born in Calais on May 24, 1933, daughter of the late Carroll and Gladys (Bohanon) Lee. After attending schools in Calais, Barbara worked various jobs until she married Louis Diabo and started raising a family. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, reading, the outdoors, but most importantly, being with her family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband Louis Diabo; her second husband Donald Seeley; a son Robert Diabo; and many siblings. Surviving are her six children, Sheila Swazdowich of Calais, Theresa McMaster and her husband Alan of Calais, Wayne Diabo and his wife Diane Ridings of Fitchburg, MA, Pamela Gullison and her husband Russell of St. Stephen, NB, Louis Diabo Jr. and his wife Donna of Fitchburg, MA, and Darren Seeley and his wife Christina of Fayetteville, NC; two sisters, Mildred Seeley of Calais and Elaine Diabo of Woburn, MA; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her canine companion Bear. Visiting hours will be held 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais, where a celebration of Barbara’s life will be held 2 p.m. Monday, September 19, with Pastor Bob Hinton officiating. Burial will follow in Calais Cemetery.
