WATERLOO — Bert Seeley, 88, of Lansing, formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, Sept. 29; services 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, both in Lansing.

Bert Seeley, 88, of Lansing, formerly of Waterloo, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012. A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 4 at 11 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Lansing, with Pastor Laura Gentry officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lansing.

Bert was born December 4, 1923 in Albia. He served in the U.S. Navy from April 1943 until his discharge May 1947. He then worked at John Deere in Waterloo from 1947 until his retirement in 1981.

He married his wife of 64-1/2 years, Lois, March 26, 1948. Following his retirement from John Deere in 1981, they moved to Lansing, where they have made their home ever since. Bert thoroughly enjoyed his family, as well as fishing and playing cards.

Survivors include Bert's wife, Lois; a daughter, Margaret (Don) St. Martin; a son, Alan (Paula) Seeley; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and a half-sister.
