Charles Seeley, better known to his friends as "Doc," passed away at a hospital in Sioux City last week, death following a period of sickness covering several weeks during which time he submitted to an operation for appendicitis. Everything was done for him in the hospital that was possible but other complications than the appendicitis were also bothering and efforts to cure him were in vain. Charles Seeley, son of Horace and Martha Seeley, was born April 8, 1886, in Jones Co., Iowa. He was only about a year old when his parents came to Correctionville so this has been hometown to him for the past thirty-eight years. He had been in failing health for nearly two years, and about two weeks ago was taken to the hospital with a complicated case of appendicitis which caused his death at Sioux City on November 28, 1925, at the age of 39 years, 7 months and 20 days. His sisters, Mrs. Ida Higley and Mrs. Jennie Stebbins of Correctionville and Mrs. Josie Bryson of Onawa, and one brother, Albert Seeley of Sioux City, are the remaining members of the family. Two brothers, Frank and Wilbur, and his parents have preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church on Monday afternoon, November 29, at 2:30 in charge of Rev. Hulse, with interment made in the Correctionville Cemetery.
