Clark E. Seeley, age 93, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Hills & Dales General Hospital in Cass City, following a five month decline in his health. He was born March 22, 1916 in rural Caro, the son of the late Frank & Sophie (Perry) Seeley, one of eight children who all preceded him in death. Clark was united in marriage to the former Marcella Rabideau on March 23, 1935. During World War II, Clark served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Eager, stopping at Nagasaki and Hiroshima during the occupation of Japan. He was always proud to have served his country during its time of need. Clark was a unique entrepreneur for his time and a master of many interests and businesses. He ran the Tuscola Drive-In in Saginaw and built Starlite Drive-In Theatre in Bay City, operating both until he retired in 1965. After retirement, he became a talented oil painter and enjoyed giving his friends and relatives the picture of their choice. He was also an avid sportsman and enjoyed gun hunting pheasants, duck, fox, deer, turkey, moose and long horn ram sheep throughout Michigan and Montana. He later took up bow hunting. He was keen at skeet and trap shooting, winning numerous trophies and acknowledgments in Michigan and Florida. Clark and Marcella both enjoyed golfing with their friends and were members of the Scenic Pigeon Country Club, the Bay View Country Club in Petoskey and the Cypress Creek Country Club in Boynton Beach, Florida. During his golfing career, Clark shot three holes-in-one. Clark's most valued passion was fishing and being on the water. He loved to share his fresh catches and smoked fish with others and enjoyed being around family and friends. He was an accomplished Captain on the many boats he owned during his lifetime. Clark and his wife enjoyed having fun with their friends and relatives while traveling throughout Mexico, Canada, California, Alaska, Hawaii and Florida. Clark was a member of the Tuscola County Conservation Club, Ducks Unlimited and a Life Member of the Caro VFW Post #4164 in Caro. Clark and Marcella lived in Caro for over thirty-five years before moving to Petoskey for ten years, Sand Point for five years and then to Port Huron in 1989. They continued to live in Port Huron until Marcella died on June 10, 2004. Shortly thereafter, Clark returned to Caro to live.

Surviving are two children, Jack and his wife Sherry Seeley of Port Huron, Sharon Schmidt and her best friend, Herman Hufnagel of Eagle; four grandchildren, Kathy, Michael, Anne and Laura; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Kim Wasik and the compassionate staff at Hills & Dales General Hospital, Northwood Meadows and Home & Hospice Advantage for the tender loving care they all provided to their father.
