Dale “Bill” Seeley, age 83, lifelong resident of Red Wing, died peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, Aug. 7.

He was born on Nov. 20, 1928, to Frank and Lillian (Nagel) Seeley in Red Wing. He married Joanne Bakke on March 25, 1950, and together they raised five children. Dale was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked for Northern States Power as a lineman-in-charge for 37 years, retiring in 1986.

Dale instilled many family values in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was and has always been a kind, soft spoken, humble, and honest man. He was a great outdoorsman enjoying morel mushroom and deer hunting with his kids and grandkids, fishing, playing horseshoes, bird watching, gardening, and he also loved playing cribbage with family and his special friend Ron Sherman.

He is survived by four children Todd Seeley (Kari), JoLynn Reglin (Kerry), Paula Seeley (Patty), and Scott Seeley (Michael); five grandchildren Anna Albrecht (Todd), Tiffany Schlichting (Drew), Paul Seeley, KateLynn Ellefson (Adaam), and Mitchell Seeley-Greenberg; seven great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Cameron, Allie, Tommy, Landon, Brooke, Paige, and newest addition, William, to be born in October.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lillian; brother, Duane; wife, Joanne; and a son, Bradford.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Barbara Von Haaren officiating. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials preferred to Mayo Health Systems Red Wing Hospice or donor's preference.
