Port Orange, FL - Donald Seeley, a long time Dutchess County resident, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at his home in Port Orange, Florida with family at his side. Born January 24, 1935 in Beacon, NY, he was the son of William J. and Lila Duscharme Seeley. On March 16, 1963 he married Barbara Pendleton in Beacon, NY who predeceased him last year. Don lived in Beacon, NY and Hopewell Junction for many years. He moved to Port Orange Florida with Barb last year. Don was the proud owner of Barb's Deli (Seeley's Grocery) in Beacon for 10 years. He was in the Army and a correctional officer at Mattewan Prison for 18 years. He was also a plumber and an all-around jack of all trades.

Don is survived by his daughters, AnnMarie Mccollum and her husband, Kim from Milton, NY. Ruth Robillard and her husband Peter from Beacon, NY. Janet Morgan from Port Orange, FL. Maribeth McDowell and her husband Steve from Beacon, NY. Karen Perry and her husband Brian from Lewisville, TX, and his son Donald Seeley and Liz Macklin from Hopewell Jct, NY. He is survived by his brothers Joseph Seeley from Beacon and Thomas Seeley of Florida. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara in 2013, his granddaughter Jonelle Marie McCollum in 2010 and his sister Helen Way in 2014.

A gathering to celebrate Don's life will be held at noon on Sunday, May 18 at St. Rocco Society, 26 S Chestnut St, Beacon, NY.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Halifax Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar Trial, Port Orange, Florida, 32127 who cared for him in his final days.
