SEELEY - Eugene F. "Gene" Of Wilson, Monday, June 10, 2013. He was a computer analyst at Bell Aerospace, Carborundum, and retired from HSBC in 1994. He is survived by daughters Cynthia (Michael) Kiely of Ransomville, and Mary Kay (Joseph) Koziol of Olcott; sons Kevin (Nicole) Seeley of Wilson, and Michael (Amy) Seeley, also of Wilson. He was the beloved grandfather of Shaun, Brennan, Ryan and Kathryn Kiely; Lucas, Nicholas and Lily Koziol; Alexandra, Patrick and Braden Seeley; and Connor, Cal and Madelyn Seeley. He is also survived by several beloved nieces and nephews, cousins and lifelong friends. Friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC, 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY, Wednesday 7-9 PM and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated FRIDAY at 10 AM at St. Brendan of the Lake (Our Lady of the Rosary Parish) 359 Lake St., Wilson, NY. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Wilson, NY. Memorials to a Wilson Free Library, 265 Young St., Wilson, NY 14172 would be appreciated by the family.

Eugene "Gene" Seeley
(June 11, 1929 - June 10, 2013)

Eugene “Gene” Seeley, of Wilson, died on Monday, June 10, at Newfane Rehabilitation & Healthcare Facility, after a long illness. He was born in Lockport on June 11, 1929, son of the late Francis L. and Veronica D. (McCarthy) Seeley, and brother of the late James Seeley. Gene was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Ellen Keough Seeley. He was a 1947 graduate of Lockport Central School. He was drafted into the United States Army in December 1950 and was honorably discharged in August 1951. He re-enlisted at that time and studied Persian at the Military Intelligence Service Language School at the Presidio of Monterey, CA. He was honorably discharged June 4, 1954. He attended George Washington University and received his B.A. in English from Niagara University in 1959. He was a computer analyst at Bell Aerospace, Carborundum, and retired from HSBC in 1994. Gene enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends. He was an avid hiker of the High Peaks in the Adirondacks, and was involved in many community organizations. He was a long time parishioner of St. Brendan on the Lake, in Wilson.
