PERRYSBURG - Harvey E. Seeley, age 80, passed away Sunday (Jan. 27, 2013) one day shy of his 81st birthday, at the Absolut Health Care Facility of Salamanca surrounded by family. Born in Versailles, January 28, 1932, the son of Harvey and Isabelle (Robinson) Seeley.

Harvey worked construction and after working for Spartans in Gowanda joined the Laborers International Local No. 210 of Buffalo. He was a road construction laborer; some of his jobs included digging ditches, laying pipe and preparing underground areas for various contracts, including NYS highways, various townships and utility companies.

Harvey is survived by children Darrel Seeley of Rome, NY, Karen Kilburn of Silver Creek, Terry (Dan) Brown of South Dayton, Denise (Kevin) Fleck of Gowanda, Deborah (Tom) Baker of Rome, NY, Darlene (William) MacTaggart of Pequannock, NJ; 15 grandchildren along with 20 great grandchildren. Harvey is also survived by brothers and sisters including Burt (Roberta) Seeley of Great Valley, Ethel (Tom) Frary of Gowanda, Ruth Hilliker of Forestville, Lane (Fred) Reinschmidt of Perrysburg David Seeley of Gowanda, Jesse (Jennifer) Seeley of Forestville and Rose Seeley of Gowanda. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Besides Harvey's parents Harvey and Isabelle, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Seeley; and grandsons Chad Brown and Alan Kilburn, along with granddaughter Gabby Rettig.

Friends may call at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME, 44 Center St., Gowanda, NY (716)-532-4200 from 2-4 and 7-9 on Wednesday where Harvey's funeral will be held Thursday January 31, 2013 at 11 a.m. Pastor James Webber (Harvey's nephew) will officiate. Interment in the Smith Mills Cemetery Town of Hanover. Memorials may be made to the SPCA (locally the Erie Co. SPCA, 205 Ensminger Road, Tonawanda, NY 14150) or an SPCA in your area or to the charity of one's choice.
