Ms. Helen Joyce Seeley, age 94, of Corbin, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the Laurel Heights Nursing Home in London.
Joyce entered into this life on May 11, 1920 in London, the daughter of the late Orland Seeley, Sr. and Lucy Victoria Seeley. She was a graduate of Corbin High School and Cumberland College. Joyce went on to work as a dental assistant and office manager for the late Dr. O.L. Ballou, retiring after 40 years of dedicated service. She was a member of the Junior Womens Club, Younger Womans Club, BPW Club, Cumberland Falls Garden Club and the Friday Afternoon Book Club; she was also a long time member of the Corbin Presbyterian Church.
Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her brother: Joseph D. Seeley; special nieces: Lori Seeley Cox, and Melanie Seeley Brown; three nephews and one niece. Special cousins: Bobby and Billie King, Alice Magee King, Dorothy Magee and Dr. E.C. and Sarah Lee Seeley.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother O.C. Seeley, Jr. and wife Camilla Seeley; a sister: Mary Elizabeth Seeley; a sister-in-law: Margaret Seaton Seeley; and a nephew: Ian Richard Seeley.
Funeral services for Ms. Joyce Seeley will be conducted on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at 2:30pm at the Corbin Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Jerry Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday, July 6, 2014 from 1:30pm until the funeral hour at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Corbin Presbyterian Church Food Pantry.
