Mrs. Seeley Passes Away

Mother of City Attorney Called by Death Yesterday Morning

Seeley – Died, Monday morning, April 12, 1909, at the Springfield hospital, of pneumonia, after an illness of a little over a week, Mrs. M.H. Seeley, wife of Major M.H. Seeley, aged 67 years.

Deceased was the mother of City Attorney Roy M. Seeley. She was born Sept 17, 1842, in West Bloomfield, Oakland county, Mich., and was the oldest daughter of A.B. and Lydia Moore, pioneer settlers of Oakland county.

She was married April 7, 1870, to Major M.H. Seeley, who survives her. She is also survived by two sons, Roy M. Seeley and Wade D. Seeley; one sister, Mrs. Adell Richardson of Pontiac, Mich., and two brothers, H.E. Moore of Orchard Lake, Mich., and George H. Moore of Manistee, Mich.

Mrs. Seeley was always prominent as a worker in America circle No. 9, Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic. She was widely known her and her death will be greatly mourned, especially in the neighborhood where she was best known.

Deceased had been ill for about a week, and although it was generally known that she was suffering a great deal, the news of the death came as a great shock to her many friends.

The remains were removed to the residence, 111 West Cook street, where the funeral will be held at 2:30 o’clock tomorrow afternoon. The interment will be in Oak Ridge cemetery.
