Hiram Seeley, 78, Was Buried Saturday

Funeral services were held at the Suver & Calvin chapel Saturday afternoon for Hiram Seeley, 78, for many years a well known resident of Pollywog road, who died Thursday at the county hospital where he was taken the day before from the home of his son, Fred Seeley, where he had been ill for several weeks.

The Rev. Wm. E. Galtz conducted the services and burial was at Maple Hill cemetery.

Mr. Seeley was born June 21, 1859, in Monroe county, and came to this community as a child.

A resident of Hartford the greater part of his life, Mr. Seeley was well known as a farm laborer and ditching contractor. He had recently returned from Grand Rapids where he resided for awhile at the home of his son, Edgar Seeley, following the death of his wife May 1, 1935.

Another son, Fred, and a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Lamont, reside in Hartford, and another daughter, Mrs. Eva Wygent in Battle Creek. There are also eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
