Howard L. Seeley, 77, of LaSalle Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away on Saturday, June 7, after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Mishawaka on May 2, 1920, to Glen and Dorthea (Myers) Seeley, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Virgil Seeley.

On Dec. 25, 1941, in Mishawaka, Howard married the former Margaret DeMaegd, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Geraldine Lukens of Boca Raton, Fla.; two granddaughters, Dawn (Lukens) Gonzalez of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Cara (Lukens) Hellier of Orlando, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Ron Gonzalez, Jr., and Lindsey Hellier; and by a sister, Betty Smith of Mishawaka.

Harold was employed for 46 years as an electrical engineer with the Wheelabrator-Frye Corporation in Mishawaka, until his retirement in 1984.

He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the 667th Engineer Topographical Company as a technician third grade, and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home, with Rev. Ken Mahan officiating. VFW Post 360 will conduct military graveside services at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, where Mr. Seeley's final resting place will be.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
