Funeral services for Howard W. Seeley Sr., 89, of Enterprise were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004 at St. Luke United Methodist Church with the Rev. Glen Butler officiating.

Burial followed in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Seeley died Saturday, Aug. 14, in Enterprise. He was born March 2, 1915, to Wilbur and Rena Seeley in Philadelphia, Pa. He joined the U.S. Army in 1943, and served during World War II as a medic in New Guinea and the Philippine Islands. After returning, he married the love of his life, Ethel Glyn Maltman. They spent a lifetime of happiness together until her passing on May 15, 2000. Mr. Seeley worked in sales and management throughout his career, retiring from Sessions Peanut Company in 1983. During his lifetime, he enjoyed traveling across the U.S. with his wife and children, woodworking, photography and tending orchids.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Mike Marler of Black Mountain, N.C.; a son and daughter-in-law, Howard W. Jr. and Colleen Seeley of Albuquerque, N.M.; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Bethany and Matthew (Kristen) Marler; two sisters, Eleanor Smith Seeley of Bryn Mawr, Pa., and Ruth Chestnut of Lower Gwynedd, Pa.; and a brother, Wilbur Seeley Jr. of Johnson City, N.Y.
