James F. Seeley Jr.


James F. Seeley, Jr., 81, of Danbury, CT passed away on Monday, Oct. 13, 2014 at his home. He was the husband of the late Lorraine A. (Carrine) Seeley.

Jim was born in Bridgeport, CT, a son of the late James F., Sr. and Lucy Ryan Seeley. He was a 1950 graduate of Danbury High School and attended Western Connecticut State College. A US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, Jim was stationed in France.

Jim was employed at the Barden Corporation in Danbury until the time of his death; he had worked there for over 60 years. He was a longtime secretary of the Concordia Society and secretary and chief scorer of the SNYRA. Jim was an avid NASCAR fan. A Danbury resident for over 60 years, Jim was previous from Brookfield.

Besides his wife and parents, Jim was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Robert Ard., Sr. and his nephew, Robert Ard, Jr.

Survivors include his son: James F. Seeley, III of Danbury. His daughters: Christine M. Neves and her husband, Glenn, of Newtown; Terri O'Neil and her husband, Tim, of New Milford, CT and San Diego, CA and Judith Johnston and her husband, Tom, of Middlebury, CT. His sister: Betsy Ard of Bridgeport, CT. His grandchildren: Nicholas, Dale, Troy, Jackie, Jessica, Alle and Olivia. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends will be received on Friday from 4pm - 8pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.

A prayer service will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday evening at 7:45pm

Burial will be held in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury, CT at a later date.
