Jerome R. "Jerry" Seeley, 79, of Eastwood passed away at home surrounded by family. Jerry was a graduate of Assumption School and a lifelong athlete and sportsman. He was known as "Lefty" for his powerful left hand pitching. In the city high school championship game, Jerry pitched a "no hitter" at MacArthur Stadium. His love of sports continued throughout his life and he coached several youth sports teams. As a lifetime Pastimes Athletic Club member, he golfed with the club's leagues as well as with other area leagues. He will forever be remembered for his devotion to the Yankees and for his unique sense of humor. Jerry retired from the City of Syracuse.

Survivors include the love of his life, Molly Beaubiah; his children, Linda Rosenberg, Jerome (Jessica) Seeley, Gary (Cindy) Beaubiah, Tammy (Morris) Mathews and Bonnie (Ed) Karasinski; his 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his brother, Raymond (Dee) and his sister, Norma (Dick) Kemmett and he was predeceased by his sister, Patricia. Calling hours will be Tuesday, 3 to 7 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church.
