JOHN SEELEY OF NEAR LERNA DIES

Lerna, Ill. – John Seeley, died today at the home of a son, John Seeley Jr., two miles south of Lerna, following a heart attack. Mr. Seeley had been in ill health several years. He was 73 years old.

Funeral arrangements have not been made.

Mr. Seeley was born Jan. 20, 1868, near Toledo, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Seeley. On Oct. 2, 1899 he married Miss Udora Cathers of Toledo. They resided on a farm near Lerna a number of years. For the past three years Mr. Seeley had resided with his son.

Surviving besides John Seeley Jr. are two other sons, Glen and William, residing near Lerna; five daughters, Mrs. Josie Bolander of Lerna, Mrs. May Marshall of Janesville, Mrs. Frances Phipps of Decatur, Mrs. Oma Cordts of Tuscola and Mrs. Flossie Highland of Champaign; three brothers, Jonah of Decatur, Ira of Mattoon and Robert of Indiana, and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Stark of Toledo and Mrs. Ella White of Fernsdale, Wash.

SEELEY – John Henry, 72, retired Coles and Cumberland county farmer, died in the home of his son J.C. Seeley south of Lerna at 10 a.m. Thursday. Funeral services in United Brethren church at Toledo at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial in Berry cemetery.
