MANTON - John P. Seeley, 71, of 10450 E. 16 1/2 Road, Manton died Monday morning at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac. He had been ill about one year. Mr. Seeley was born April 6, 1902 at Manton. On February 2, 1924, he married Beulah Olney, who died December 13, 1969. He married Blanche Welsh, July 1, 1970. Mr. Seeley attended Manton Schools and Michigan State University. He farmed for about 16 years at Manton, he then moved to Detroit, where he worked for 22 years as a machinist. In 1964 he returned to Manton, where he farmed. He was a member of the Rollins Christian Fellowship Church. Surviving with his wife, Blanche, are three sons, Glenn of Eaton Rapids, George of Coldwater and William of Portage; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Gerald (Elnora) Leavitt of Great Falls, Montana, and Mrs. Verna Reed of Manton; a brother George of Lucas; two sisters, Mrs. Russell (Ester) Riley of Birmingham and Mrs. Brenton (Margaret) Goodhand of Plymoth; 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren and one step great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 pm at the Hall Funeral Chapel at Manton with Rev. Morris Osbeck officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at any time at the funeral home.
