John P. Seeley

John P. Seeley, 77, died Monday, June 12, 1995, at Putnam community hospital following a brief illness.

He was a native of Heuvelton, N.Y. and moved to Interlachen 10 years ago from Tampa. He was a Methodist, a retired carpenter and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Lawrence Lodge 578, F&AM, DePeyster, N.Y., carpenters Local 278, Watertown, N.Y., Lifetime Member of VFW Post 424, Tampa, Interlachen Volunteer Fire Department, station 17, Interlachen Lakes Estates Land Owners Association, and the Putnam County Humane Society.

He was preceded in death by one son, John P. Seeley, and one grandson, John E. La Rock.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Hazel V. Seeley of Interlachen; four daughters, Maytie "Connie" La Rock of Pearland, Texas, Carol Miller of Land of Lakes, Beverly Kylberg of Alvin, Texas, Vicki Dyel of Lutz; one son, Gary Seeley of Solvang, Calif.; one sister, Leah Besio of Cicero, N.Y.; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 10 a.m. Friday at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with Rev. Hugh Barton and Rev. William Doan officiating. Burial will follow in Palatka Memorial Gardens following Masonic graveside rites conducted by Palatka Lodge 34 F&AM, and Colorguard and Flag presentation by VFW Post 10164, Interlachen.
