Joe was a passionate youth soccer coach for many years in the Illinois Futbol Club (formerly LISC). Joe was also very active in the local Second Wind Running Club and, most notably, was the webmaster and key team member for the Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon.

Through his blog, Joe's Blasts (joes-blasts.blogspot.com), Joe wrote honestly and humorously about his 21-month battle against leukemia.

To carry on Joe's longtime commitment to youth soccer in Champaign-Urbana, the Joe Seeley Scholarship Fund has been established through the Illinois Futbol Club. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to "Illinois FC" with "Joe Seeley Scholarship Fund" on the memo line; checks can be mailed to Illinois FC, Attn: Joe Seeley Scholarship Fund, 2310 N. Willow Road, Urbana, IL 61802.

He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
