Joyce Seeley
1933 - 2014

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, Joyce Ruth Niebuhr Seeley, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2014.

Joyce was born on February 12, 1933 to August Niebuhr and Ruth Cummings Niebuhr in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from South High School in 1951. Joyce spent much of her youth serving customers at her family's restaurant, Cummings Drive In, and treasured those memories. As an accomplished seamstress, she was quite proud of the uniforms that she made for various teams at Olympus High School, but her most gratifying accomplishments were the beautiful wedding dresses that she made for her daughter and granddaughter. Joyce worked so hard her entire life and had an amazing work ethic. She was pleased to retire from her much loved job at the Utah State Bar after 21 years of service at the young age of 77. She was excited to spend her retirement years spoiling her great grandchildren whom she adored.

Joyce was independent, strong, generous, kind and sweet, all traits her family and friends cherished and now embrace in her loving memory. Quite simply, she was one of the nicest people you could ever know and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children, Deena (John) Slama, Robert Seeley, and Sharon Seeley, her grandchildren, James "JD" Day, David (Cayse) Day, Caylen McDonald, and her great grandchildren, Gavin, Ethan and Lola. She is also survived by her four sisters, her brother and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and ex-husband Dean Seeley.

A special thanks to Kathy Irwin and Kathy Jackson for the care and love they showed to mom.

Services will be held at the LDS Holladay North Stake Center 4395 South Albright Drive (2145 East). Viewing Thursday, February 27th from 6 to 8pm and Friday, February 28th from 9:45 to 10:45. Funeral Service to follow. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery 1342 East 500 South.
