Margaret Northrop Seeley

Margaret Northrop Seeley died November 6, 2014 from complications of lung disease. She was 87. She was born and raised in Syracuse, New York. She graduated from Nottingham High School and earned a degree in Architecture from Syracuse University. In 1952, she married Wallace R. Seeley and they celebrated their 62nd anniversary last summer.

She is survived by her children, Jim (Beth), Tom (Beth), Mike (Marianne), Carolyn (Lou Mellen); and grandchildren (Andrew Mellen, Cori Mellen Boland, Kyle, Faith, Lila, Karly, Ryman, Joanna, Robbie and Meg); and one great-grandson, Oliver Boland. She was predeceased by her grandson, Jamie.

Margaret "Peg" was a friend and confidante to many. While she never joined an architect firm she designed additions to homes as well as the public library expansion and the St. David's rectory addition in Kinnelon, New Jersey. She moved back to Central New York, to Cazenovia, in 1991. She served as treasurer for the Gamma Phi Beta sorority at Syracuse University, and she was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church and active with the Cazenovia Public Library.

A memorial is planned for the spring.
