Martha Ellen Paul was born in Linn Co., Iowa, March 8, 1861, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Josie Bryson at Pisgah, IA, March 16, 1917. She had lived to the age of 56 years and 8 days. Deceased was married January 10, 1876, at Paralta, Linn Co., Iowa, to Horace Seeley. She moved to Correctionville 29 years ago last fall and has made this her home since. She united with the Methodist Episcopal church about eight years ago and has been a faithful worker. Survivors include her husband, two sons and three daughters, Charles Seeley of Correctionville, Albert Seeley of South Dakota, Mrs. Ida Higley of Bronson, Mrs. Jessie Bryson of Pisgah, and Mrs. Jennie Stebbins of Correctionville, all of whom were present at the funeral. Sad experiences have come into the life of Mrs. Seeley - - some two years ago she was shocked, as was the entire community, by the tragic death of her son Frank in an automobile collision. And a year ago another son, Wilbur, just ready to step into manhood, passed away. The remains were brought to Correctionville on Monday and funeral services were conducted from the M.E. church Tuesday morning at 10:30 by Rev. Mark Masters. Interment was made in the Correctionville Cemetery.
