SEELEY (Kenney), Ora Evangeline – 100, formerly of Yarmouth, passed away November 3, 2011, at Villa St. Joseph du-Lac. Born January 5, 1911 in Boston, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Evangeline Kenney. Ora loved music and she was a very musical person. She loved to play the banjo and the ukulele. She also loved knitting, quilting and crocheting. Ora was a very hard worker, and in her younger years, she worked at the Cotton Mill, and was later employed at the Grand Hotel. She was a caring lady and always put others before herself. She is survived by daughter, Geraldine, Lowell, Mass.; foster son, Ronald, Lower Sackville; sisters, Nettie Regina Fields, Ont.; Dorothy “Tootie” Mallory, Saint John, N.B.; Mary Valina “Kay” McRae, Saint John, N.B.; brother, Joseph Herbert “Herbie”, Saint John, N.B.; daughters-in-law, Louise (Davis) Seeley and Chloe (Nickerson) Seeley; grandchildren, Lynn (Cindy) Seeley, Craig (Isabel) Seeley and Karen (Leonard) Lowe; as well as five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband, James; sons, James Jr. and Douglas; sisters, Florence May “Flossie” and Mary Alfreida “Freida”; brothers, Joseph Reynard and Joseph Bradford “Puggie”. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yarmouth. There will be no visitation or funeral service by family request. A graveside service took place Saturday, November 5 at 2 p.m. from Chebogue Cemetery, with Monsignor Gerald LeBlanc officiating. Donations in Ora’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
