Raymond O. Seeley, age 88, late of New Lenox, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at his home. He was born in Joliet to the late Martin J. and Gertrude (nee Klingloff) Seeley. Survived by his loving family; his Beloved wife of 60 years, Joan (nee Glavan); his loving daughters, "his girls", Julia (Russell) Leehaug, Kris (Mark) Trost and Gina Marietti; his cherished grandchildren, Kimberly (Nathan) Patwardhan, Allison Leehaug, and Michael, Maxwell and Nicholas Marietti; a brother, Patrick (Esther) Seeley; and a sister, Francis Davis; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by four brothers, Russell, Martin, William, and James; and two sisters, Genevieve Hamilton and Anna Schauland. Raymond was employed by U.S. Steel for 44 years, retiring in 1991. He was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox, Irving A.C., New Lenox VFW #9545 and New Lenox American Legion #1977. In lieu of flowers, donations in Raymond's name to Lincolnway Special Recreation Association would be appreciated. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451 on Monday, April 7, 2014 from 3:00PM to 8:00PM. Funeral service, Tuesday, April 8, 2014 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30AM and then to St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM.
