Richard “Dick” Seeley, Jr., age 85, of Hobart passed away on June 13, 2013 at VNA Hospice in Valparaiso. Richard was born on July 29, 1927 to Richard and Helen Seeley in Gary, IN. He proudly served his country in WW II in the Navy. He was the owner and operator of Lake County Tile and Marble from 1966 until he retired in 1992. He was a member of Hobart Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon, a member of M. L. McLelland Lodge 357 F&AM, Scottish Rite, Demolay for 70 years, Bricklayers Local #6 and Local #4, The American Legion Post #54 and the Hobart FOP.

Richard is survived by his wife of seven years, Virginia; three children: Diane (John) MacDonald of Hobart, Richard Seeley, III of Valparaiso, and Ronald J. (Kathryn) Seeley of Hobart; six grandchildren: Ronald J. Seeley, Jacob Seeley, Jeffrey Seeley, Jill MacDonald, Michael (Jennifer) MacDonald, and Carol (Allen) Pinkett; four great grandchildren: Ryan MacDonald, John Michael MacDonald, Brooklynn MacDonald and Isabella Pinkett; and three step grandchildren: Tina (Kaj) Langlois, and Hudson and Zander Langlois. Richard was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilynn, in 2004. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to VNA Hospice in Valparaiso.

A funeral service for Richard will be held Monday, June 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at The Hobart Presbyterian Church 60 N. Washington St., Hobart, IN with Rev. Jeffrey Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, June 16, 2013 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 6:30 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart Chapel. Additional visitation Monday, June 17, 2013 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
