Titusville Man Killed

A 32-year-old Titusville area man was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident Friday morning when the vehicle he was operating ran off a city street and landed in a ditch.

According to local police the deceased is Richard Leroy Seeley of Titusville, RD 2, who was alone in his vehicle when the accident occurred at about 2:30 a.m.

Seeley was traveling east in the 1100 block of East Main Street on Route 27, near the east boundary of the city when the auto went off the street. Police said Seeley failed to make a curve in the roadway. His vehicle went off the north berm and into a ditch. Police believe the vehicle flipped over before coming to rest on its wheels. The vehicle traveled approximately 190 feet off the roadway before coming to rest.

Police stated that the investigation is continuing.

SEELEY

Richard L. Seeley Jr., 32, of Titusville, RD 2, died Friday at Area Hospital from injuries received in a one-vehicle accident.

He was born on Mary 24, 1960, a son of Richard L. and Kay Hubert Seeley. He was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1978, and also a graduate of Lincoln Welding School in Cleveland, Oh., class of 1980.

Mr. Seeley was formerly employed by the Killington Ski Resort in Rutlin, Vt., and also by the Central Vermont Power Company. He had been owner and operator of the Penn Lumber and Wood Company located at Poland Hill near Tionesta for the past three years.

He was baptized at the Pleasantville United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Titusville B.P.O. Elks No. 264. He was an avid skier, outdoorsman and fisherman. He was also involved in motorcycle and motocross racing.

In addition to his parents of Titusville, RD 2, he is survived by his fiancé, Nancy Lehnen and her daughter, Kristin Raymond of Jamestown, N.Y.; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Hubert of Centerville, RD 1; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Edward M. Hubert and his paternal grandparents, Bert and Blanche Seeley.

Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and attend the funeral service there on Monday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Timothy Maybray, pastor of the Pleasantville United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

The funeral service for Richard L. Seeley Jr. was conducted at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home on Monday, May 10, 1993, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Timothy Maybray, pastor of the Pleasantville United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery with the following serving as honorary pallbearers: Todd Hubert, Craig Hubert, Andy Vinopal, Jim Seeley, John Seeley, Brady Seeley, Bruce Hanold and Jim Waychoff. Active pallbearers were Toot Hubert, Tucker Hubert, Brian Mangel, Randy Johnson, Rob Johnson, Jack Marvin, Jim Allen and Larry Roof.
