Rochelle, Sept. 5 – Richard Seeley, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. George Seeley, was struck and instantly killed by an eastbound Chicago & Northwestern passenger train at 4:30 o’clock yesterday afternoon at the Thorp crossing near Flagg Station.

Just as he drove upon the track the train hit the horse and buggy. Seeley’s skull was fractured and the horse was so badly cut that the train crew shot it.

The body was brought to this city on the same train which killed Seeley and removed to an undertaking establishment. Coroner Dr. Aiken of Forreston was notified.
