Dover – Sabrina “Karen” Seeley born Karen Birthe Rasmussen to Viggo & Else Marie (Pahsson) Rasmussen on May 16, 1925 died Saturday May 18, 2013 at Riverside Rest Home after a period of failing health at the age of 88.
She grew up in Denmark during World War II and served in the US Army in Germany during post war time where she met her first husband and moved to the United States in 1950. She was a lifelong resident of Eliot, ME where she raised her family. She enjoyed gardening, singing, dancing and exploring the world. Never one to be left behind, she adapted well to the computer age and would use the technology to further explore her world.
Karen is survived by her six children and their spouses Jennifer Marble and husband Edward of Farmington, NH, Michael Seeley and wife Carol of Hampton, VA, Kathy Holland and husband T.N. of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Rose Garvin of Rollinsford, NH, David Seeley of Rochester, NH, and Anne Day and husband Matthew of Lebanon, ME. She also leaves a sister Kirsten Syversen of Copenhagen, Denmark, 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. A celebration of Karen’s life will be held from 2:00- 5:00 p.m. on Saturday June 1st at 6 Woodland Drive, Rollinsford, NH. Friends are invited.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to Riverside Rest Home Activities Department
