Wayne Seeley, 82, of Pierre, died Tuesday, February 11 at Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls. Visitation will be from 1-3pm, Sunday, February 16 at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with a Prayer Service at 3:00pm. Memorial Service will be at 10:00am, Monday, February 17 at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Griffin officiating
Wayne was born March 22, 1931 in Alexandria, MN to Myron and Edith Seeley. He grew up in Osakis, MN, attending school at Nelson, MN through the 8th grade.
He had various jobs throughout his life including: truck driver, working at a grain elevator, working on a turkey farm and for the Pierre YMCA which he did for the last 16 years.
Wayne was united in marriage to Margaret Minahan on May 23, 1953 in Barry, MN. He enjoyed fishing, wood working, but especially spending time with his great-granddaughters.
He is survived by his wife Margaret of Pierre; son John and wife Brenda of Pierre; three grandchildren: Bridget Miller of Ft. Pierre, Jamie Crothers of Oklahoma and Tyler and wife Jessica Seeley of Pierre; six great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; four sisters and a great-granddaughter.
