William R. Seeley

Seeley, William R. On Saturday, April 11, 2015, William Robert Seeley, 70, walked into the arms of our Lord and was reunited with his son, Mark Robert, after a long and hard-fought battle in his earthly body. Bill, who proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, was known to some as Wink, others as Uncle Bill, and to many as Grandpa Seeley. He has left many hearts aching for his return, but rejoicing that he is no longer bound by the physical limitations and struggles of living in a fallen world. He is finally free and fully alive! Bill will not only be remembered for his love of John Deere tractors and Walker Texas Ranger, but for his generosity, his infectious laugh and, most predominantly, his testimony of unwavering faithfulness and trust in our Lord. In spite of poor health for most of his life, Bill did not become defeated. He lived each day full of laughter and love, spending time with his friends and family, and most of all being thankful for every moment with his wife. His nearly 50 years of marriage to Judy tells a true love story, depicting the sacrificial love of Christ with each passing year. Many loved ones are waiting to join Bill - his beautiful bride, Judy (Terpstra); his sons and daughters in law, Cliff (Linda DeVries) and Tim (Diane Jonker); his granddaughters, Janelle (Michael) Scafe, Kara (Josh)Birdsall, Brianne (Kyle)Hurlburt, Crystin, and Sami; his only grandson, Josh; his two great grandchildren, Colton and Emilie. He is preceded in death by his mother, Alice, his father, Clifford, and his sister, Pat. He is also survived by sisters, Janet, Jean, Susie, Norma, and Judy, and his brothers, Clifford "Skip" and Ken. The list of those who loved him is not limited to his close friends and family; Bill truly touched the heart of each person he met, and he will be greatly missed. We anxiously await the day when we will see him again! The Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, April 17 at 1:00pm at Heritage Baptist Church, 1570 60th St SE, Kentwood, with refreshments to follow. Grandpa Seeley loved each teenager that has passed through their church and prayed for each of them daily. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Heritage Baptist Church Student Ministry. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, April 16, from 2-4 and 6-8 at:
